Bali is the destination our Coimbatore travellers ask about most, and it is easy to see why. Flights are manageable, the rupee stretches further than it does in most of Southeast Asia, and the island genuinely does hold two different holidays inside it: the green, temple-filled interior around Ubud, and the beach-and-sunset stretch along the south coast.
The problem is that most off-the-shelf Bali packages are built around what is cheapest to operate, not around what is good. You end up with four hours in a car every day, a hotel that looked different in the photographs, and a watersports voucher you never wanted. We plan Bali the other way round: we ask how you like to travel first, then decide where you should sleep and how far you should move.
A MilesBeyond Bali holiday is usually five to eight nights, split between two or three bases so that you are not packing every morning. We handle the visa-on-arrival guidance, airport transfers, private car with an English-speaking driver, and a day-by-day plan that has space in it. If you want to spend an entire afternoon doing nothing by the pool, that is a legitimate plan and we will build it in.
There is no single right month, only the right month for what you want. Here is how the year breaks down, and what each window means for weather, crowds and price.
| April to June | Our favourite window. Dry, green, fewer crowds than July, and hotel rates are still reasonable. |
|---|---|
| July to August | Peak season and peak pricing. Great weather, but book eight to ten weeks ahead. |
| September to October | Quietly excellent. Dry days, softer rates, and the island feels calmer. |
| November to March | Wet season. Rain usually comes in short heavy bursts rather than all day, and prices drop noticeably. Worth considering if your dates are fixed. |
Everyone goes to the Tegalalang rice terraces. Fewer people walk the Campuhan Ridge at seven in the morning, when the light is low and the path is empty, or spend an hour at the Ubud art market before the tour buses land. We usually put Ubud at the start of the trip, while you still have energy for early mornings, and keep two nights there minimum so you get one unhurried day.
Tirta Empul, Ulun Danu Beratan and Uluwatu are each worth seeing, but not on the same day. We space them out and time them to avoid the mid-morning crush. Sarongs are provided at every temple, and we will brief you on what is appropriate to wear so nobody is caught out.
The Kelingking cliff viewpoint is the photograph everyone wants. Getting there means a fast boat, a bumpy road, and a genuinely steep descent if you want the beach itself. We book the earlier boat so you beat the crowd, and we are honest with you if we think the day will be too much for older parents or young children.
Seminyak for restaurants and beach clubs, Nusa Dua for calm water and resort comfort, Uluwatu for cliff views and sunset. These are different holidays and we will help you pick the right one rather than sending everybody to the same strip.
Bali eats very well at every price level, from a warung plate for a few hundred rupees to a proper cliffside dinner. Tell us your food preferences at the enquiry stage. If you are travelling with parents who want Indian food daily, that is completely solvable and we will build the stays around it.
Snorkelling at Blue Lagoon, a sunrise catamaran, or a simple afternoon in a calm bay. We do not bundle watersports into every package by default, because plenty of travellers never use them. Ask for it and we will price it properly.
A starting point, not a fixed plan. Every MilesBeyond itinerary is rebuilt around your dates, your group and the pace you actually want.
| Day 1 | Arrive in Denpasar, private transfer to Ubud, easy evening and a local dinner. |
|---|---|
| Day 2 | Ubud at its best. Ridge walk, a temple, the rice terraces, and an unrushed afternoon. |
| Day 3 | Optional Mount Batur sunrise or a slow morning, then transfer to the south coast. |
| Day 4 | Nusa Penida day trip by fast boat, back in time for a coastal sunset. |
| Day 5 | Free day. Beach club, spa, shopping in Seminyak, or nothing at all. |
| Day 6 | Uluwatu temple and the cliff sunset, with dinner overlooking the water. |
| Day 7 | Last morning, souvenirs, and airport transfer home. |
Bali works beautifully for honeymoon couples, for families with children old enough to enjoy a boat ride, and for groups of friends who want a mix of activity and lounging. It is less ideal if your group includes someone with limited mobility and you want to see Nusa Penida, since several of the viewpoints involve steep steps. Tell us and we will plan around it.
| Ideal duration | 5 to 8 nights |
|---|---|
| Visa | Visa on arrival for Indian passport holders; passport valid six months beyond travel |
| Currency | Indonesian Rupiah. Cards work in hotels and larger restaurants; carry cash for markets |
| Flights from Coimbatore | One or two stops, usually via Chennai, Bengaluru, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore |
| Time difference | 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of India |
| Best suited to | Honeymooners, families with teens, groups of friends, first-time international travellers |
Unless your quotation says otherwise, our packages include return flights, accommodation on twin sharing, airport and inter-city transfers, the sightseeing listed in your itinerary, daily breakfast, visa or permit assistance where applicable, and our planning and on-trip support.
They exclude personal expenses, meals not specified, optional excursions, tips, travel insurance and anything arising from delays outside our control. Every quotation lists inclusions and exclusions separately, so you know exactly what you are paying for before you pay anything.
You tell us your travel month, how many people are coming and roughly what you want to spend. We come back with a written itinerary showing the hotels by name, the transfers, and a clear price. If something does not suit you, we change it. There is no obligation, and we do not take a booking until you are happy with the plan on paper.
Once you travel, you have a real person on WhatsApp for the length of the trip. Flight delay, a hotel that is not as promised, a change of plan on day four: one message and we handle it from Coimbatore.
Tell us the month, the number of travellers and anything that matters to you. A planner replies with real options and a real price.
It depends on your travel month, the standard of hotel you want and your group size, so we do not publish a single number that later turns out to be wrong. Send us your dates and traveller count and we will come back with a transparent breakdown showing flights, stays, transfers, and what is not included.
Indian passport holders get a visa on arrival in Bali. Your passport needs at least six months validity from the date of travel and you will need a return ticket. We share the current requirement and the exact documents when we confirm your booking, since rules do change.
Yes, with sensible planning. We keep driving distances short, choose hotels with pools children can actually use, and avoid stacking two long excursion days back to back. For very young children we usually recommend basing yourself in Nusa Dua where the water is calm.
April to June and September to October give you the best balance of dry weather, manageable crowds and fair pricing. July and August are excellent weather-wise but busy and more expensive. The November to March wet season is cheaper and rain often clears within an hour.
Easily. Bali has a large vegetarian and vegan restaurant scene, and Indonesian food itself has plenty of vegetable dishes. If you need strictly Jain or no-onion-no-garlic food, tell us at the enquiry stage and we will arrange it with the hotels in advance.
Five nights is the practical minimum for a trip that does not feel rushed. Six or seven nights is the sweet spot, and lets you add Nusa Penida or a Gili island without cutting anything else short.
Tell us your dates and who is travelling. We will build the trip around you and stay available while you are away.
